Just Thoughts

Just thoughts that I think writing them down is better than saying them loud !

“Fringe is a love story about a man who loved a boy so much he broke the universe to save him, and it’s about that boy learning to love a man he grew up hating. It’s about two people drawn together by forces that transcend worlds, and falling in love. It’s a story about love strong enough to break the world, and strong enough to heal it.”

  • Capps: Just as Smallville reworks the Superman story and depicts a teenage Clark Kent battling a younger Lex Luthor, the new Merlin drama goes back to the sorcerer's undocumented early years and his experiences with a young Prince Arthur who hasn't yet become the legendary king.
  • Capps: "We also wanted to subvert the expectations of Arthur. He is not the heroic king of legend. He is a young man, rather like Prince Harry, who likes to party, enjoys his status but who also shows kingly qualities.
  • Capps: "That then gave us great possibilities for taking the story on. We could follow the two of them to see how Arthur unites the land of Albion and Merlin becomes the great wizard."
  • Me as a viewer: Then why didn't you end it with that? Your show was never the legend but what led up to it.

“Perhaps it’s your destiny to change that.”

If anything I hate it more now than before. The performances are so stunning though.

I noticed this time how Merlin looked at the moment he realized that he had fulfilled destiny as promised but that it would mean the loss of his friend. Dragon’s going on about how great it all is and how Arthur will rise again, and Merlin is just like stuck on the realization that this is what was supposed to happen. So painful.

If I look back at all the losses Merlin had to endure to protect his secret so he could continue to protect Arthur, I just cannot believe such a sweet, brave and enduring person could have such a sad story. He basically traded his innocence, his love, his father, his friends all to protect Arthur. The only thing he wanted in the end was for Arthur to live, and he couldn’t even have that. Makes me so angry and sad I can’t even describe it.

I feel bad for Bradley because Colin was screaming his head off for Dragon right by his ear and he had to play dead. That was probably so hard and probably hurt his ear, lol. Oh and again at the lake when Colin shouted “I can’t lose him, he’s my friend,” right in the ear!
